Welcome to Goodove Oral Surgery & Dental Implants! I am a dedicated oral surgeon who’s passionate about providing exceptional surgical care in a genuinely caring environment. With over 17 years of serving the Virginia Beach and Chesapeake communities, I’m committed to treating every patient like family so you can achieve optimal oral health with the specialized care you deserve.
My approach to oral surgery centers on building strong relationships with both patients and the referring general dentists who trust us with their care. As a hometown oral surgeon who chose to stay independent while competitors went corporate, I believe in prioritizing quality referrals over volume and taking the time to provide personalized treatment. I maintain operating privileges at Virginia Beach Ambulatory Surgery Center, Maryview Hospital, and Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters, ensuring patients with special medical or anesthetic needs receive treatment at the most appropriate facility. Personal connection is important to me, and I work closely with referring dentists to build lasting professional relationships based on trust and exceptional patient outcomes.
Beyond surgical procedures, I’m deeply committed to our local Virginia Beach and Chesapeake communities, focusing on building lasting relationships with referring general dentists who trust us with their patients’ care. When I’m not caring for patients, I can be found pursuing my passion for aviation, catching waves while surfing, exploring local hiking trails, or playing guitar.
Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. As oral and maxillofacial surgeons and dental specialists, Dr. Goodove and Dr. Zagursky manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Our doctors practice a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. Some additional examples of specialty care we offer include but are not limited to: diagnosing and treating oral pathology, facial trauma, TMJ disorders, and Sleep Apnea.
Should we participate with your insurance benefit plan, we will collect your estimated co-payment at the time of surgery. In addition, we will also require a complete financial guarantee to be kept on file. This financial guarantee is completed in the office and retained until your account is fully settled.
We will send you a monthly statement so that you are aware of your account status. Most insurance plans remit final payment within 4-6 weeks. Please call our office if your statement does not reflect your insurance payment within that time frame. Any remaining balance after your insurance has paid is your responsibility.
