Our doctors have operating privileges at several local hospitals, including Virginia Beach Ambulatory Surgery Center(VBASC), Bon Secours:DePaulMedical Center, and Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters.Treatment is available at these facilities for patients who have special medical or anesthetic needs for extensive procedures.
The surgical staff at Goodove Oral Surgery is highly trained and experienced. Whether it’s a friendly hand to hold, a warm blanket during your procedure or even a request to listen to your favorite song (IPOD); our warm and professional surgical staff always takes the extra step to provide a genuinely caring environment for our patients. Patients are closely monitored during and after surgery to ensure the highest level of safety and comfort.
All staff members are CPR certified.
Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. As oral and maxillofacial surgeons and dental specialists, Dr. Goodove and Dr. Zagursky manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Our doctors practice a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. Some additional examples of specialty care we offer include but are not limited to: diagnosing and treating oral pathology, facial trauma, TMJ disorders, and Sleep Apnea.
A Virginia Beach native, Dr. Scott Goodove is proud to serve the community he grew up in. After earning degrees from the University of Virginia and VCU, he completed his oral surgery residency at Seton Hall University. He is Board Certified and recognized as a Fellow by leading dental anesthesia organizations.
Dr. Goodove has a special passion for caring for local teens and young adults, especially when it comes to wisdom teeth removal. He’s grateful to the many parents who trust him to provide a safe, comfortable experience for their children.
Outside the office, he enjoys aviation, surfing, hiking, guitar, and anything on the water. He lives in Virginia Beach with his wife, Amy (originally from Richmond), and their two children, Ella and Drew.
Dr. Zagursky is a native of Philadelphia, PA, graduated from Temple University and completed dental school at Temple University. He served in the U.S. Army for 21.5 years, retiring as a Colonel. He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial surgical residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Ft. Lewis Washington. Dr. Zagursky deployed to Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan in 2003 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. His is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Zagursky joined our practice in 2014, he has interest in dentoalveolar, implants, and office anesthesia.
Should we participate with your insurance benefit plan, we will collect your estimated co-payment at the time of surgery. In addition, we will also require a complete financial guarantee to be kept on file. This financial guarantee is completed in the office and retained until your account is fully settled.
We will send you a monthly statement so that you are aware of your account status. Most insurance plans remit final payment within 4-6 weeks. Please call our office if your statement does not reflect your insurance payment within that time frame. Any remaining balance after your insurance has paid is your responsibility.
