Patient Testimonials

Dr. Goodove and his staff were amazing from start to finish. My daughter had a great experience while getting her wisdom teeth pulled, and continues to heal nicely. I will definitely take my other daughters to Dr. Goodove when the time comes for them to get their wisdom teeth removed. Would highly recommend Goodove Oral Surgery!

I had the pleasure of speaking with Mrs. Ashley to set up an appointment. I was nervous about switching doctors but she ensured that I was in great hands. Not only does Ashley have the most soothing voice, she was prompt with scheduling and quite knowledgeable of policies and procedures . A great person to have on your team.

My daughter went today to have 2 teeth extracted at the Chesapeake office. Dr. Green was so amazing and fast and my daughter says she felt no pain and his assistant Nikita was outstanding. Great job to both of them and she has now said she will not go anywhere else for her teeth. Thank you so much.

Going into the process of removing my wisdom teeth people told me their horror stories none of which matched my actually experience. Victoria kept me cool and calm and Dr. Goodove was fantastic through the whole procedure. He talked me through and before I knew it we were done. Highly recommend this practice 🙂

Pre-Prosthetic Surgery

The preparation of your mouth before the placement of a prosthesis is referred to as pre-prosthetic surgery.

Some patients require minor oral surgical procedures before receiving a partial or complete denture, in order to ensure the maximum level of comfort. A denture sits on the bone ridge, so it is very important that the bone is the proper shape and size. If a tooth needs to be extracted, the underlying bone might be left sharp and uneven. For the best fit of a denture, the bone might need to be smoothed out or reshaped. Occasionally, excess bone would need to be removed prior to denture insertion.

One or more of the following procedures might need to be performed in order to prepare your mouth for a denture:

  • Bone smoothing and reshaping
  • Removal of excess bone
  • Bone ridge reduction
  • Removal of excess gum tissue
  • Exposure of impacted teeth

We will review your particular needs with you during your appointment.
